This has been a period full of business with Roger starting his temporary job at Waitrose doing deliveries and me doing lots of brass banding and loads of Christmas crafting. We’ve spent great time with our family and all in all it’s been a great time. On top of that Roger had an interview for the rugby world cup volunteering try-outs that he really enjoyed. He’s still waiting to hear if he’ll be needed, but did brilliantly to get an interview at all.
I was able to add a bit of support to Chandlers Ford Street Pastors by doing a talk on their behalf to the Rotary club. Street Pastors have long been a passion of mine for the work they do in the local community and I have supported them by working with them since 2006. They do such a great job in our communities and they are brilliant.
I love playing with Chandlers Ford Boys Brigade Brass band and I loved all of the band events that we performed at. We’ve enjoyed playing carols and Christmas music at a range of events and locations to hosts of different people. It’s so great to play at any time of year, but Christmas is extra special for brass music, as it seems to really add to Christmas for folk. This is the band playing on Christmas morning outside the Methodist Church at Chandlers Ford. Good times.
Christmas is a good season for crafting and I’ve been busy making Christmas bunting, Christmas shirts, knitting hats, jumpers and cowls. Highlights have been the arm knitting cowl, Polly’s jumper and the shirts.
We’ve just come back from Birkenhead and time with Roger’s family. We were proud to be at the wedding of Roger’s niece Kiri with Peter. Kiri made a beautiful bride, and they make a fantastic couple. We wish them love and happiness for a long and happy future together.
Our lovely children Jack and Polly were both home for Christmas and it was fantastic to see them. As of tomorrow they’ll both be back at Uni and we’ll be all packed and ready for a trip away to sunny Spain. Hope it’s warm and we have a really good relax and enjoy the sights.
